Blount Mansion is a special landmark here in East Tennessee, as not only the oldest museum but also the home of our state’s first governor, William Blount.
It’s a beautiful home, but was recently made even more beautiful by the Knoxville Garden Club during its annual decorating for the holidays.
The Garden Club has been caring for the grounds of the Blount Mansion since 1934, with members dedicating a day each week in addition to the special Christmas decorating event.
You can read more about this special event on Cynthia Moxley’s blog, The Blue Streak.
The Knoxville Garden Club, since 1923, has aspired to make our community a more beautiful place with gardening and conservation of native plants and trees, as well as education and philanthropic grants.
